I am watching the weather forecast in two areas of problem. The first is in the western plains where winter wheat yields have taken a hit. The other large and expanding area is in the Delta and southeastern United States, where the drought continues to expand. The odds are good that the Thursday drought monitor map will show more areas there moving into extreme drought.
