The planting progress report for corn, showed that 86% of the corn is planted nationwide. That compares to the five-year average of 87%. The report showed that 61% of the corn has emerged. This was higher than expected. For soybeans the USDA report showed that 66% has been planted, compared to the five-year average at 67%.
