I am watching for two signals that corn and soybean prices have bottomed. First, basis improvement. Processors will scramble to buy corn and soybeans once harvest is beyond 50%. Second, the spreads. Watch the December 2023-to-March 2024 corn spread and the November 2022-to-January 2023 soybean spread. A narrowing spread is a positive signal for price.
