Watch the soil moisture reports for Iowa and Illinois this week. In last week’s report, 99% of Iowa is abnormally dry. For Illinois, 62% is abnormally dry with the northern 50% of Illinois turning very dry. Now that it is September, rain will not really help most of the corn and soybean crops.
